Introduction: Sexual satisfaction is a human physiological need which should be considered in transgendered people with Gender Dysphoria. This study was performed with aim to compare sexual satisfaction between those applied for sex reassignment and sex reassigned ones among clients of Fars Forensic Medicine Organization.
Methods: This descriptive comparative study was performed on 70 patients with gender identity disorder who were operated or not operated in Fars Province from 2011-2014. Data collection tool was Larson Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by SPSS software (version 21) and one-way covariance analysis test. PResults: The results of the statistical test indicated that the mean score of sexual satisfaction among sex reassigned group (88.02 ± 9.81) was significantly higher than those applied for sex reassignment (76.08±10.53) (P=0.001). According to the results of one-way analysis of covariance, there was a significant difference between two groups in terms of mean score of sexual satisfaction (P=0.001). Furthermore, the results indicated that interaction of gender, age, education, job, father and mother's job with independent variable had no significant effect on the dependent variable of sexual satisfaction.
Conclusion: Those applying for sex reassignment after carrying out sex change, gain sexual identity stability and more favorable conditions are provided to enjoy sexual behaviors. So, professional education and consultation by psychologists and psychiatrics seems to be very necessary for these people.
