Introduction: In today's competitive world, organizations need employees who are Committed and inclined to preserve organizational membership. In the meantime, the positive affect and (Emotional Quotient) EQ are the variables that are related to individual characteristics and also can be effective on employees’ interest toward their job. This study aimed to predict job involvement through positive affect and EQ of midwives and nurses.
Methods: This correlated study with random cluster sampling based on objective was implemented on 83midwives and nurses of Isfahan hospital. Samples were selected through cluster randomized sampling. Data instruments were Job Involvement Questionnaire (Kanungo, 1982), Positive Affect Occupational Questionnaire (Fox and Spector, 1999) and Emotional Quotient Questionnaire of Abilities Institute of Health and Human (2006). Data were analyzed by SPSS statistical software version 16, correlation and multiple regression analysis. P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
Results: There was a positive significant relation between positive affect and job involvement (p<0.01), while none was observed between EQ and job involvement. (p>0.05)
Conclusion: Results showed that midwives and nurses’ positive affect could predict job involvement.
