Abstract

Introduction: Complete spinal anesthesia is a rare but life-threatening complication and is characterized by decreased level of consciousness, hypotension, bradycardia and respiratory failure. The present study The present study reported a case of complete intraspinal anesthesia in cesarean section.

Case Presentation: A 33-year-old female patient with gravid 2 referred to Ostad Motahari Hospital for a cesarean section. Spinal anesthesia was performed in a sitting position with a size 25 spinal needle and with the first attempt at the L3-L4 level, and then the patient was placed in the supine position, and with a brief Trendelenburg position, the level of anesthesia was raised to T4, and after ensuring the sensory block and The engine of the patient's bed was placed in a flat state without position, and the surgical site was disinfected twice a day. The patient's blood pressure 3 minutes after spinal anesthesia was 72.103 mm Hg and heart rate was 84 times per minute. At this moment and before making the surgical incision, the patient's level of consciousness suddenly dropped.

Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, although the prevalence of complete spinal anesthesia is very limited and few, but this complication can pose a great threat to the mother and the fetus during cesarean section, so knowing the effective factors in reducing this complication can He took an effective step in reducing this complication as much as possible.
