Introduction: Preeclampsia occurs as a result of poor perfusion of the placental vessels, which is caused by insufficient regeneration of the spiral arteries of the maternal uterus. Early diagnosis and treatment with aspirin may prevent preeclampsia and fetal and maternal complications.
Materials and methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled and parallel-group trial was conducted in primiparous women between 11+0 weeks and 13+6 weeks. The first group took 160 mg and the second group 80 mg of aspirin daily from the time of entering the study until the 36th week of pregnancy.
Results: 300 eligible people were included in the study. In the high-dose aspirin group (group one), the incidence of mild preeclampsia was 8 (5.4%) versus 3 (2.0%) in the low-dose aspirin group (p=0.13), severe preeclampsia was 4 ( 2.7 percent) versus 1 (0.7 percent) (p=0.18), IUGR 12 (8.1 percent) versus 6 (0.4 percent) (p=0.10), premature delivery 39 (26.4%) versus 27 (18.0%) (p=0.055), high blood pressure 22 (14.9%) versus 16 (10.7%) (p=0.055), The baby's weight (mean- grams) was 3102.46±509.47 against 3064.68±437.6 (p=0.3).
Discussion and conclusion: The findings of this study showed that the administration of low-dose (80 mg) and high-dose (160 mg) aspirin in women with abnormal uterine artery doppler findings in the prevention of pre-eclampsia, premature birth, limitation Intrauterine growth, high blood pressure and baby weight are not affected.
