In this study we tend to measure gingival indices in mothers with early abortion comparing with who gives birth to healthy neonate.

P value less than 0.05 was considered significant.
Results: Mean AL(P=0.138), mean PD(P=0.232) and Gingival index(P=0.071) was not different in case and control groups. But The amount of bleeding on probing was significantly more in cases than controls (P=0.045).
Conclusion: Periodontal disease can't be a risk factor for early abortion.
