The aim of this study was determining the prevalence of hirsutism and the level of androgenic hormones in the blood and its association with polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 3200 high school girls age 14 to 18 in Shiraz, Iran during 2009-2010. Modified Freeman-Galway was used to measure hirsutism scores. Transabdominal pelvic ultrasound was performed in patients with hirsutism and other symptoms of hyper androgenic (acne, and alopecia) and androgenic hormones were evaluated. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 11.5, Chi-square and Fisher tests. P value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The prevalence of the severity f hirsutism was estimated in 100 patients (3.2 %). Mean of testosterone levels was higher in hirsutism group, but no significant correlation was seen regarding mean of total testosterone, free testosterone and polycystic ovary syndrome between patients with hirsutism and without hirsutism (p>0.001). But the correlation between menstrual irregularity and hirsutism is statistically significant (p<0.001) Conclusion: Incidenceof hirsutism and levels of androgen hormone has not statistical significant association with polycystic ovary syndrome. Similar researches with larger sample size in women aged 20 to 25 who have normal menstrual cycle is recommended.}, keywords = {Androgen,Hirsutism,Polycystic ovary syndrome,Prevalence}, title_fa = {شیوع هیرسوتیسم در دختران 14 تا 18 ساله شهر شیراز و ارتباط آن با سندرم تخمدان پلی کیستیک}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: هیرسوتیسم یک اختلال مربوط به خود مو نیست بلکه آندروژن ها منجر به تحریک رشد مو می شوند. مطالعه حاضر با هدف تعیین شیوع هیرسوتیسم و تعیین مقادیر هورمون های آندروژنیک خون و ارتباط آن با سندرم تخمدان پلی کیستیک انجام شد. روش‌کار: این مطالعه توصیفی مقطعی در سال 89-1388 بر روی 3200 دانش آموز دختر 18-14 ساله در دبیرستان های دخترانه شیراز انجام شد. جهت تعیین نمره هیرسوتیسم، از مقیاس اصلاح شده فریمن-گالوی استفاده شد. در بیماران دارای هیرسوتیسم و سایر علائم هیپر آندروژنیسم (آکنه و آلوپسی)،سونوگرافی لگناز طریق شکم انجام شد و ارزیابی هورمون های آندروژنیک به عمل آمد. داده ها پس از گردآوری با استفاده از نرم‌افزار آماری SPSS (نسخه 5/11) و آزمون‌ کای دوو فیشر مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. میزان p کمتر از 05/0 معنی دار در نظر گرفته شد. یافته‌ها: فراوانی شدت هیرسوتیسم 100 نفر (2/3%) برآورد شد. میانگین میزان تستوسترون در گروه دارای هیرسوتیسم بالاتر بود ولی ارتباط معنی داری از نظر میانگین تستوسترون کل و تستوسترون آزادو سندرم تخمدان پلی کیستیک بین افراد مبتلا و غیر مبتلا به هیرسوتیسم وجود نداشت (001/0p). نتیجه‌گیری: بروز هیرسوتیسم و سطح هورمون آندروژنبا سندرم تخمدان پلی کیستیک در دختران ارتباط آماری معنی داری ندارد، لذا پیشنهاد می شود مطالعات مشابه با حجم نمونه بزرگتر و در سن 25-20 سالگی در زنانی که دارای قاعدگی طبیعی هستند نیز انجام شود.}, keywords_fa = {آندروژن,سندرم تخمدان پلی کیستیک,شیوع,هیرسوتیسم}, url = {https://ijogi.mums.ac.ir/article_2232.html}, eprint = {https://ijogi.mums.ac.ir/article_2232_ad362842ccbaff111657ccc3d2c5f264.pdf} }
